Kinetic Typography Explainer Video
Client: Uber
Year: 2025
For Uber, Ultratype crafted a kinetic typography video that breaks down automated pricing with clarity and style. We transformed technical complexity into visual flow, using animated letterforms and motion graphics to illustrate how dynamic pricing responds to demand, distance, and time, all through the language of moving type.

Uber Automated Pricing — Typography in Motion
Uber entrusted Ultratype with the challenge of transforming their automated pricing system into a dynamic visual narrative. The mission? Turn complex technical information into an engaging motion graphics experience where typography becomes the hero of the story.

Kinetic Typography as a Storytelling Engine
At Ultratype, we believe that type should do more than communicate, it should perform. For this motion graphics video, we crafted a kinetic typography system where words don't just appear, they move with intention and rhythm. Each letter, number, and word was choreographed to guide the viewer through Uber's pricing mechanism, transforming data points into a fluid visual dance.
The kinetic typography approach allowed us to create hierarchy and emphasis in real-time, directing attention exactly where it needs to be. Prices shift and adapt on screen, mirroring the dynamic nature of Uber's algorithm. Text becomes architecture, building and rebuilding itself to illustrate the automated system at work.

Motion Graphics Meets Typographic Precision
As a motion graphics company specialized in type-driven storytelling, Ultratype developed a visual language where typography and graphic elements work in perfect harmony. We designed animated letterforms that morph, scale, and transition in sync with Uber's brand energy, clean, efficient, and unmistakably modern.
The flat design aesthetic serves as a canvas for typographic experimentation. Bold sans-serif fonts pulse with energy, numerical values cascade across the frame, and text blocks dissolve and reassemble to reveal new information. Every typographic choice reinforces clarity while maintaining visual excitement.

Design Systems That Move
Beyond individual moments, we created a comprehensive motion design system rooted in kinetic typography. This system ensures consistency across every frame while allowing for dynamic variation, words that stretch to emphasize urgency, numbers that expand to show scale, labels that slide into place with mechanical precision.
The result is a motion graphics video that proves typography can carry an entire narrative. In under two minutes, Ultratype demonstrates how kinetic typography transforms abstract concepts into visceral, memorable visual experiences that resonate long after the video ends.
